History

We are Ctech Labs, an Indonesian technology and research company. Over the years, we have grown from a small research initiative into a center for advanced imaging and healthcare technology, with work spanning industrial applications, medical diagnostics, and cancer therapy.

1999–2006

Inventing ECVT

1999

Early research

Our founding research begins at Shizuoka University, before continuing at the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Ohio State University, focused on capacitance tomography for industrial reactor imaging. This early work forms the technical foundation for the technology we build in the years that follow.

2003–2004

First ECVT development

Ctech Labs establishes a parallel research base in Tangerang, Indonesia, developing tomography software and sensor systems in collaboration with Ohio State University, and recruiting students from Universitas Indonesia. In 2004, this collaboration produces Electrical Capacitance Volume Tomography (ECVT) — positioned as the world's first 4D tomography system, capable of real-time volumetric imaging without radiation. A working prototype is completed the same year, drawing interest from research institutions and companies in the United States, including NASA.

2005–2006

Securing the technology

We file an international patent application for ECVT with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office / WIPO (PCT). The patent is granted in 2006, establishing the technology as our proprietary intellectual property.

2007–2009

Formalizing the company and expanding the technology

2007

Ctech Labs is registered as a company

Ctech Labs is formally registered as a company. It manufactures and supplies Indonesia's first 3D ultrasound scanner for high-pressure steel cylinder columns (later marketed as SonaCT) — its first industrial commercial product.

2009

International academic collaboration

We expand our tomography research and build research affiliations with institutions including Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), King Saud University (Saudi Arabia), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and RIKEN (Japan), extending our technology and reputation internationally.

2010–2019

Expanding into medical and healthcare

2010

Entering medical applications

We introduce the world's first 4D ECVT brain-activity scanner, expanding ECVT from industrial process imaging into medical applications. In the same year, we develop the first version of Electro-Capacitive Cancer Therapy (ECCT), a non-contact treatment that uses low-level electric fields delivered through a wearable device — marking our entry into the healthcare industry.

2012

ECCT is patented

We register an Indonesian patent for ECCT and receive ethical clearance to begin formal clinical study of the therapy, moving it from an early-stage device toward a validated medical technology.

2013

The world's first ECVT breast cancer scanner

We extend ECVT into oncology diagnostics with the world's first ECVT breast cancer scanner, allowing tumors to be distinguished from benign tissue based on electrical activity rather than radiation-based imaging.

2014

Academic and clinical partnerships abroad

We sign a memorandum of understanding with Kyoto University, Japan, and begin establishing partnerships with doctors in Germany, Japan, and Poland for clinical research and development of ECCT-based cancer treatments.

2015

National recognition

Ctech Labs' contribution to cancer-detection technology is recognized with the Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie Technology Award, one of Indonesia's most prominent science and technology honors.

2016

ECBS and regulatory challenges

We develop Electro-Capacitive Body Stimulation (ECBS) devices for sports applications. In the same year, we face restrictions from government regulators, a challenge we work through as we continue advancing our medical and wellness technologies. We also host a joint Indonesia-Japan international workshop on ECCT.

2018

International MoUs

We sign a memorandum of understanding with the International Union of Universities for joint development of complementary medicines, and with Luke Clinic in Tokyo, Japan, for joint research on ECCT cancer treatment.

2019

A decade of clinical results

ECCT reaches ten years of documented use in cancer patients, with phase one and phase two clinical trials ongoing, reinforcing our approach to non-invasive cancer therapy.

2020–present

Global expansion

Global expansion

We expand globally by building partnerships with Revotera to create Ctech Global, based in Turkey, for joint research, development, and commercialization of ECVT and ECCT products and services.

2024

Continued research and academic validation

Our ECCT technology continues to be studied and published in collaboration with academic partners, including peer-reviewed research into wearable electric-field cancer therapy, reflecting our ongoing investment in clinical evidence.

2026

Toward global mass distribution

Building on our partnership with Revotera, we take steps toward global mass distribution of our technology, pursuing international quality certifications to support wider commercialization abroad.

Today our work is organized around four specialties — process imaging, material inspection, medical physics and cancer research, and sport technology and cellular health — delivered through ECVT Industrial, ECVT Healthcare, ECCT, and ECBS, built on collaborations with national and global institutions.
